Elders are given the option to send a certified letter inviting a suspected publisher to a JC in the "Flock" book.
All right, ATJ, but is this provision still running ? There was a time when the WTS was not so concerned with court cases, so they would readily be formal, although one could rightly have found this taste for procedure stupid , as what was at stake were private, not official matters.
Nowadays, I will be very surprised if the WTS hasn't discreetly added beside its Flock book some directions to elders to the effect that they leave into the hands of potential suers as little written material as possible. That is most likely the reason why, around me, summoning to JCs has always been done during visits or even on the phone.
Apart from that, I've had my fair share of ignorant and narrow minded elders, but none of them, over 30 years, has ever been stupid and cunning enough to send a blank sheet for a JC.
